The transcript of records is a record of all courses and lectures attended by the individual student, displaying the credit points and grades awarded for a specific course or lecture. You will have already received an automatically generated e-mail message containing your individual examination results. Transcripts of records are issued twice a year on behalf of the Rectorate and are documents bearing no signatures.
Time period
Transcripts of records cover all student performance subject to assessment during the period of a semester. It is thus possible that a transcript contains courses and lectures attended in an earlier semester. Vice versa, a transcript of records need not necessarily contain all courses and lectures being attended in the current semester. Pending assessments will appear in a subsequent transcript of records.
Delivery and Amendments
Transcripts of records will be sent to students by post approximately three weeks after the end of the academic semester. Under the University of Basel Student Regulations ยง11, students are formally required to verify their transcripts of records within 20 days of receipt and to bring any errors to the attention of the responsible faculty examinations office (for details on the various examinations offices, please see the University’s online course directory).
Rectification
Where amendments need to be reported and furnished within the stipulated twenty-day verification period, the students concerned will receive an amended transcript of records, that is, a rectified copy.
